Can I choose roofing colors besides the colors offered in your brochure?
Generally no. Genesis offers 19 standard roofing colors for our customers’ convenience. If further choices are required, ask your Dealer about additional cost and availability.
Can I choose paint colors besides the colors offered in your brochure?
We prefer that customers choose from our 19 different stock colors. However, if a sale depends on our ability to custom paint your shed, you can choose to provide your own paint. However, it’s your responsibility for delivery to the Plant. Genesis does not warranty your custom paint. Ask your dealer about additional cost.
What is included in installation?
Installation includes placing and leveling the building on site. We do not remove obstacles or provide ground leveling services. The buildings are leveled to the terrain with 4″ x 8″ x 16″ solid concrete blocks (1 block for every 4 perimeter feet). Wood shims are then used on the top of the blocks to complete this process. The customer supplies these blocks and must be on site at the time of the installation. Make arrangements with your driver prior to delivery. Drivers may charge extra for extremely difficult deliveries.
Do I need good credit for the Rent-to-Own option?
WE DO NOT DO CREDIT CHECKS! We offer an affordable alternative to buying your portable building by signing a 36 or 48 or 60 month rent-to-own contract. Your first month’s rent is all that is due to get a building delivered to you!
I ordered a building. When should I expect it to be delivered?
Our buildings are typically delivered within 20 to 25 days from the date we receive your order. Weather conditions and the demand of the season may affect delivery.
Do I need a specific foundation for my building?
The only requirement is a general level location for your building to sit on (we will level the building up to 18″). Our buildings are designed to rest directly on their skids. In order to level the building we use treated wood blocks. If you would like to have your building on concrete blocks, we only require that you provide the blocks.
What if my new building will not fit through my gate or around my fence?
Genesis Portable Buildings does not offer custom built on-site options at this time. It would be your responsibility to take down a wide enough section of fence for delivery.
How much space should be allowed to deliver a building?
A vertical space of 14′, measured from the ground to the top of the building when it is on the trailer, is required. Be sure to take any tree branches and utility wires into account. While our drivers are very skilled with a Mule, he will still need a minimum of 1′ of space to maneuver the building through an opening. That is, a building 12′ wide will require a 14-foot wide space (1 foot on each side).
Do I need to have permits for my building?
You are responsible for contacting your local city and county agencies in regard to zoning, permits, setbacks, and covenants. Also, it is recommended that you contact your Home Owners Association (if applicable) to determine what neighborhood rules and regulations may be apply.
Your brochure states ‘Free Delivery’, but I live far away from where I saw the buildings. How far is too far?
We offer free delivery up to 30 miles from our closest dealer to the point of delivery. You do not have to order the building from the closest dealer to qualify for free delivery. If you are beyond the 30 mile radius, there is an additional per mile fee. Please contact a Genesis representative to give you an accurate cost.
Is there maintenance required on my building?
We use treated materials, but with any wood products, routine maintenance is suggested to extend the life of your wooden structure. Our wood products are backed with a manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.
I would like to customize my building, add a window, and change where the door is located. Can I do that?
Yes. All of our buildings are completely customizable. If you would like to add a door or window, we can easily accommodate, as long as it doesn’t compromise the integrity of the building. Click here to use our Shedview online building tool.
How do I make my RTO payments?
We have four ways to pay: ACH, credit card, debit card, or coupon book to mail in your payment.
